We’ve discussed the BlueEagle CLP inspiration and Logo genesis earlier. A great amount of effort and research and testing has gone into our products. We decided to highlight the journey of the development process. The technical biobased natural carbon and contamination “solvents” used in BlueEagle CLP is listed with the USDA as a “Technical Grade” cleaner with a special combination of pine oils along with oranges, lemons, and limes which are all-natural carbon cleaners. Collectively these ingredients produce a non‐offensive aroma similar to pint‐citrus or gentle musk aroma.
Composition Details
The percentage of solvents used in BlueEagle CLP is compliant with the +50% biobased content goals and initiatives defined by both the USDA BioPreferred Program and the US Department of Defense for the use of renewable natural resources. Also called “C‐14” carbon content found with official test verification by ASTM D‐6866 (Standard Test Method used for Determining the Biobased Content Samples using radiocarbon analysis) is required by both the USDA & US Department of Defense.
Why This Matters
The greater amount of technical grade pure biobased material solvents (C‐14) used – the greater the natural cleaning potential occurs. In the same way plants use photosynthesis to convert the carbon dioxide into oxygen. BlueEagle CLP converts the carbon buildup within the firearm to a dispersible material which is removed or ejected through the firing chamber. After application you can see how BlueEagle CLP’s products attack the carbon powder which is transforms into a light black liquid that in minutes, is easily removed from the firearm.
Technical - How It Works
The biobased content is the key to BlueEagle CLP success, it has one of the highest ASTM cleaning performance ratings (Known as Kari‐Butanol [kb]) of 75. Modern brake and metal parts cleaner have a Kb rating of about 15‐20 for comparison. That is why BlueEagle CLP has the cleaning capability more than three times that of brake cleaners. Simply stated, BlueEagle CLP bio-based ingredients oxygenate the carbon within the firearm and it’s working components which release the carbon from attached surfaces.
BlueEagle CLP uses the pure synthetic lubricant known as PAO or “Polyolefin” which as a true synthetic light and powerful material also used in aerospace applications such as the F35 and F15 Eagle Jet Fighters. Pure PAO Synthetics naturally work collaboratively with Biobased materials, doesn’t separate over time, preventing time lapsed evaporation or sticky residue.
This blend of a Premium solvent with the PAO synthetic provides a clean burn during firearm operations and has the ability to clean and break up surface rust along with short term moisture protection should you find yourself in rainy or humid conditions. Amazingly, BlueEagle CLP also cleans without creating any damage to varnished wood, chrome, stainless steel, or gun bluing.
